When Tim sets out to do something, he puts a lot of thought into it and goes all out. It started with what seemed like just some Friday night plans. “Hey lets get some friends together and go out in the boat”, and ended up with him popping the question in front of Jupiter Light House. One zebra print jewelry box, one gorgeous engagement ring and one big “Hell Yeah!” I’ve still got the message on my cell phone. “Hey Aunt Chrissi, I’m engaged. “Wow Tim, you wrapped that ring box yourself?” “Atta Boy”. It was a perfect proposal and all about Jenn.
For Mark, Kyle and I we knew this was coming. It wasn’t a matter of if but when, so what we really wanted to know was not whether Jenn was changing her name but whether Tim was changing his. Yep..I know I got that backwards but he’s perfect and fits right in, so we’re really just adding another Peterson right?Say What?? Okay that’s so not happening and it has been confirmed. She’s changing hers.
Jenn all grown up and engaged with her eyes on the “Dream Wedding and the drama begins. This was a hard and painful one to watch unfold. What Bride to Be doesn’t want the “Dream Wedding?” Over and over I wondered…(cause remember I just have one boy), when a daughter is born, don’t you marvel over the miracle? Wonder who she’ll turn out to be? See her all grown up and walking down the aisle and then someday having a family of her own? Hello. That’s what I would have been thinking if I was meeting my baby girl for the first time. Well, we already know that most of the Petersons live for the moment and rarely plan ahead so in this case, I’m not sure walking down the aisle part crossed either of her parents minds at that first meeting or actually ever. “I’m not really in a position to help you with your wedding” quickly became apparent. What does a girl do when she hears the news? She accepts the truth, tries not to think she doesn’t matter, buries the hurt and marches full steam ahead.
Jenn is resourceful and can definitely pinch pennies to save a dollar. What I didn’t know is that she’s got some major organization skills and a whole lot of Craftiness and Do It Yourself talent going on. She’ll pull this off, all on her own, and I can’t wait to see what she’s got planned. Operation Wedding begins and the count down is on!!
